LEARNING RESOURCES
A collection of high-quality learning material about lens gridding. These resources cover aspects of distortion types, use in a VFX context, practical shooting guides, processing, and much more. These resources have helped me throughout my VFX development, in both compositing and on-set data wrangling.

hugo's desk: wHY DO YOU NEED A LENS DISTORTION GRID?
One of the first videos I ever saw about the topic, and have probably watched about 100 times since. A fantastic guide for more visual learners; exploring the concept of distortion, on-set capture and even taking us inside nuke and creating our own undistorts.
ERIC ALBA: visual effects - lens distortion grids
This resource is one of the earliest in my memory and the main reason I decided to make additional lens grids for download. Although his lens grid should cover all of your needs, some productions use denser grids for longer focal lengths or grids that exhibit an anamorphic squeeze.
SHAPERVFX: BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO LENSES
A shameless plug, but with good intentions. When I made this article, I designed it with the goal that beginners or more experienced people might be able to learn something new. Camera lenses are a fundamental component of filmmaking and have a large range of implications for VFX; whether you work on-set or in post production, everyone can benefit from learning about lenses.
